Potential Tracks (First Group Meeting)

Firstly - woo, group blog!

We had our first group meeting at break today, during which we discussed the sorts of tracks we had been looking at, and what type of music we thought would suit our image. We decided that a punk/indie image would probably be easiest, as most of us were comfortable with that music, and so we could already suggest bands, if not tracks, that we knew of.

We ran into slight difficulties because Mia and I in particular tended to listen to male-led bands, and we had already decided that it was easiest to use members of our group as actors where possible. Which obviously meant a female lead.

So we sat and discussed various options - Avril Lavigne and Paramore were suggested by Selina as potentials, but debatably had too strong and definitive a style already. Mia suggested The Hush Sound. I suggested Rilo Kiley as well, and let the others listen to one of their tracks - though it was a little slower-paced, the lyrics lent it towards easy narrative.

The two main decisions that we made were that we wanted our music video to be largely performance-based, and that we were looking for a fast-paced track (though we weren't going to completely dimiss a slow-paced track if it had enough potential).

So we've decided to meet up again on Friday with two or three potential tracks to pitch to the group already on Blogger for easy access. I'm putting mine up now, if the rest of you guys want to come see. ^___-
